The Hands on History Museum
Last week, Year 1 went on a trip to the Hands on History Museum. Two of our website reporters, Finlay and Megan (1AB), have written wonderful stories about what they did. Thank you to you both for your hard work.
Megan's report
Last week we went to the Hands on History Museum. We went on a coach with 1AB. It took a long time to get there.
What we did
When we got into the museum, we played with the toys and we dressed up. We did drawing and coin rubbing. The museum was very big, it had an upstairs and a downstairs. We met a Victorian lady called Mrs Miggins and she was wearing a mop cap.
Favourite parts
My favourite part of the trip was the dressing up and the coin rubbing.
What we learned
In Victorian times they didn't have washing machines. They used dolly tubs, dolly sticks, mangles and dolly pegs to wash their clothes instead.
Finlay's report
We set off at 10:15am. We went on a blue coach. It was a long journey. Then we went into the museum. First we played with some Victorian toys. Then we went to see Mrs Miggins. She told us about Victorian times. It was very interesting and very different.
