Hold Your Horses – It’s A Highwayman!

On Thursday 27th January 2011, the pupils from Year 6 had an amazing suprise visitor, when, during an assembly, John Nevison, a local highwayman burst in!

Report written by Jacob and Billy (Year 6)

We listened to John tell stories of his robbing days before a day of wonderful activities.  We wrote letters of complaint to the London Gazette, made wanted posters and even wrote our own ballards to sing.  John kept popping into our classrooms throughout the day to give us more stories to inspire our writing.  We ended our day by sharing our work in the hall and more tales from John.  We hope that John Nevison can visit again soon - maybe he will bring his horse Nutmeg!
