Basketball Tournament
In early December Coach Kelsey and Mr Frankish took some of Bricknell’s outstanding basketball stars to Kelvin Hall Senior School for a tournament against other local schools.
Coach Kelsey’s selection was controversial, picking only two Year 6 players for a Year 6 tournament, but his faith in the skills of the Year 5 and Year 4 players was justified as both teams put in sparkling performances. The ‘A’ team won every match they played in and picked up the winners’ trophy, with the ‘B’ Team winning all but one of their games to finish in third place. This was a fantastic achievement for the school as the young guns dazzled their older, bigger and stronger opposition with superb displays of athleticism and ball skills. Well done to all concerned.
