Clubs and Activities
We are very lucky here at Bricknell Primary School, as we have a huge variety of clubs and activities available to children at lunchtimes and after school. Many children take advantage of the clubs, however if you are not currently a member of a club, our new club timetable might help you to choose a club to join. More information about our clubs and activities can also be found in the About section of the website.

The Bears and The Tigers compete!
Teams of keen young footballers from five local primary schools met for the first time recently as they took part in the first of this year’s primary school football tournaments at Kelvin Hall.

Bricknell’s Football Team beat local rivals Thoresby Primary
Bricknell’s Football Team got off to a flying start in their first game of the season, winning 10-0 against local rivals Thoresby.

Don’t Smoke
On Friday 1st July forty children from Year Six took part in a drama workshop highlighting the dangers of smoking. Involving drama and dance, the children performed their work at the end of the day to a Year Five audience.

Sports Day
Our Sports Day this year will be held on the afternoons of 12th July for Years 3 and 4, 13th July for Years 5 and 6, and 14th July for Year 1 and 2. A letter has been sent home with details and a copy is available here. All the above events will be hald at the YPI sports ground on Chanterlands Avenue this year as our field is out of action.
Reception classes will be holding 'Mini-Olympics' at school on the following afternoons. RCB - 12th July, RVJ - 13th July, REH - 14th July.

10p Line
We have been asked to bring in 10p's to buy a bit of the rainforest so they can't cut it down. The line of 10p's will hopefully start at the top of the school and end at the bottom of the school. We are going to continue this all term so you have plenty of time to keep bringing in your 10p's!

Industrial Action – Thursday 30th June 2011
The school will be closed to pupils on Thursday 30th June as most of the teaching staff are supporting the NUT strike action on teacher's pensions. For further details, please click here see the letter sent to parents on 23rd June.
Nick Barmby visits Year 5
On the 25th May Nick Barmby came to visit our school. He spoke to all of year five and gave lots of advice on eating healthily and why keeping fit is important.
