20p Challenge for Haiti
A huge thankyou to all the parents and pupils who donated to our 20p challenge to raise money for the survivors of the Haiti earthquake. As you know the aim of the challenge was to lay 20 pence pieces along our school corridor to see how long a line we could make and how much money we could raise.
Flat Stanley Flies into Bricknell!
Do you know the children's book character Flat Stanley? He is a boy who is flattened when a notice board falls on him! He can then have many adventures because he fits into an envelope!
Flat Stanley has been sent to Bricknell from a group of second-graders in Oklahoma, USA.
Shoebox Appeal
Thank you to everybody who filled, decorated and donated a shoebox for our Real Aid Shoebox Appeal. These were collected at the end of November and Year 5 then had the huge task of taking them to the Real Aid shop down Newland Avenue.

Christmas Fair
A HUGE thank you to all the parents, pupils and visitors who supported our Christmas Fair on Friday 4th December. The event was incredibly well attended and hopefully will have raised lots of money to support school projects next year.
Year 4 visit The Streetlife Museum
Year 4 spent a full day dressed as evacuees, sampling what life would have been like for children during World War 2.
The Plastic Bottle Greenhouse
It’s amazing what you can do with 1,500 plastic bottles! During the summer term, the school eco club decided to do a project that really showed people that reusing is just as important as reducing and recycling.

A good school with some outstanding features
Our school was inspected at the end of September, with very little notice. We're thrilled that our school was described as "a good school with some outstanding features" by the inspectors.
