Video: Up, Up and Away
Miss Wolff, Miss Wilson, Mrs Newton and Mrs Ellis worked with children in Year 4 and a professional animator, David Bunting, to produce this outstanding AWARD-WINNING animation!
This weekend, 'Up, Up and Away' was awarded the *Best Animation by Young People* Award and Miss Wolff and David Bunting went to Bradford to collect the award.
It was an international award so beat off lots of competition.
The intention of the animation was to enhance learning in MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) and broaden children’s ICT experience and skills.
More about the making of the video after the video...
Miss Wolff took her inspiration from a previous KS1 Christmas production she had seen called 'Ballooning around the world' and then children, along with Mrs Newton, created ‘mood boards’ for different countries.
Miss Wolff and Mrs Wilson ran an animation club to create sets and props and Mrs Newton and Mrs Ellis worked closely with all of Year 4 to make sure what they produced was of the highest quality.
It was a long job. It took 3 months to create the props, 1 week to film and 1 week to record the sounds. All this time David, the professional animator was kept up to date and gave advice and direction about how to make things look professional.
